The Miz and Summer Rae were on the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast earlier this week to promote their new movie The Marine 4: Moving Target.
One of the topics discussed was the Miz-Damien Sandow breakup at WrestleMania 31. With the feud over and Miz off TV for filming, he called out fans to continue to support Sandow and not lose support for him like they did with other stars.
Check out what Miz had to say below.
"“I wanted the fans to know that it’s on them. They did this. They made him turn. This is one of those things that I know exactly what’s going to happen because I’ve seen it happen before.Do we remember a character named Alex Riley where everyone told him to turn on me? That he was better than me and he could do the things I couldn’t do. They were chanting his name and then he turned on me. He did exactly what they wanted. And then what happened? Three months later, he was fighting to get on TV and the crowd could care less about him.So, this is where it angers me about the WWE Universe because I know what’s going to happen. They’re going to tell Damien ‘we want Mizdow, we want Mizdow.’ It’s on them because now that he has turned on me, now it’s their job to keep him at the level they respect him at right now. I don’t think that’s going to happen because they forget.”"
This is an accurate statement from the Miz, How many times has the WWE Universe supported a Superstar or Diva, only to ignore them by the end? While that can also be WWE Creative’s fault at times, the crowds can make or break one of them.
Judging by the most recent Monday Night Raw, Sandow still has support from the crowds. Unfortunately, it’s not near where it was when he his partnership with Miz was in place.
Time will tell if Sandow’s popularity remains with the WWE Universe. Do you think it will?
