We all saw the main event of NXT TakeOver Brooklyn. Champion Finn Balor took the win over Kevin Owens, retaining his belt in the process. Owens went onto beat Cesaro at SummerSlam and get some momentum going on the main roster.
But now that Balor has banished Owens, where should the former go from here?

Balor shows up on NXT proud as the man at the top of the hottest brand in pro wrestling right now. He’s just beaten his biggest foe in the biggest main event in the company’s history in front of nearly 16,000 fans. Now he should be set to welcome back the man who brought him into the company, his great friend Hideo Itami.
Itami has been out injured since being attacked in the parking lot at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable. Much speculation has been thrown around about who it was that took him out.
Balor welcomes back Itami on the show. The two of them seem to have each other’s backs but slowly, Finn begins to act strange around Hideo.
After seeing Itami win to become the number one contender for the NXT Championship, Balor comes out to the ring fully painted up. At first, he seems to congratulate his friend. Then he takes the mic and says the following:
“I have to congratulate you on the win, and it will be my pleasure to beat you for my belt. But before you face me, you have to know who it was that took you out, it was me.”

Balor drops the mic, holds his title belt aloft and walks to the back as the NXT audience sits in stunned silence.
The following week, we get an interview with Balor in the ring, again in the paint we normally only see at big events like TakeOver. He explains that it was the Demon inside him that made him attack. The Demon controls him and that’s the reason he keeps hold of the championship. When he’s not painted, he has control of himself.
Itami refuses to speak other than to tell Balor that he will take away the title in their match. Balor spends the following weeks attacking other members of the NXT roster, slowly becoming more vicious with his beatings.
We come to the match for the NXT Championship at TakeOver. Balor has become the most hated man in the company at this point. Itami has the backing of the crowd. They want him to get revenge on the man who took him out and become the man at the top.
Itami makes his entrance and stands in the ring waiting for the Demon to enter the arena.
Smoke fills the ramp way as the Demon slithers out onto the stage and disappears. Slowly, lights shine onto the smoke and up he comes, the champion that the crowd loves to hate.
As he walks to the ring, the crowd lets him know exactly what they think and boos fill the arena.
The match starts and Balor does his best to avoid actually locking up with his former friend, Itami. This leads to NXT General Manager William Regal coming out and announcing this will now become a Lumberjack match. The entire roster files out to surround the ring.

With the ring surrounded, Balor has no choice but to fight.
Itami takes control right off the bat. As he looks to go for the Demon, a group of men make there way onto the ramp. Five masked men to be precise. All of them reveal themselves to be wearing Balor Club shirts. The NXT roster moves over to the ramp to stop these men interfering.
With the distraction pulling away Itami, Balor hits the switch blade before hitting a massive Coupe de Grace to take the 3 count and keep his belt. Balor embraces his new allies on the ramp. These are the Demons he spoke of, but who are they?
The following week we see them go with Balor to the ring, all still masked. Balor stands in the ring surrounded by them. He lifts his title belt into the air, and in unison, they remove their masks. Cue the biggest pop you’ve ever heard.
Instantly the crowd recognize the faces. It’s The Young Bucks, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, AJ Styles, the men formerly known as Bullet Club. In seconds, the faceless men become the coolest thing in WWE.
Running roughshod over everyone and everything in their way, The Young Bucks take the NXT Tag Team Championship and Balor breaks the record for the longest NXT Championship run.
This is Balor Club, here to take over not just NXT but the WWE.
