After a botched push during the spring last year, Cesaro is leaving the brass no choice. “The Swiss Superman” should be put into the main event picture as a big-time star.

If you were like me, you watched in awe and amazement during the finish of the inaugural Andre the Giant Battle Royal at WrestleMania XXX. Not only did Cesaro win the battle royal, he tossed Big Show over the top rope for the final elimination of the match to do it.
The scene in New Orleans was tremendous, as Cesaro lifted the battle royal’s trophy up and celebrated with the crowd (and the famous “Cesaro Section” sitting on the TV side of the screen).
“The Swiss Superman” followed up his victory at WrestleMania with separating himself from Jack Swagger, Zeb Colter and the Real Americans duo, and aligning himself with the god known as Paul Heyman.
However, the new project for Cesaro was a failure, as his television time seemed forced, along with being lost in the fray after every fantastic Heyman promo on the mic. Heyman addressed his time with Cesaro recently by saying that he was placed with Cesaro to continue drawing heat to Brock Lesnar for breaking The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania last April.
(The way Heyman explains his time with Cesaro, while plugging The Undertaker-Brock Lesnar rematch before Sunday’s encounter, was hilarious.)
Not many are smarter than Heyman in the wrestling business today, and he made a valuable point about Cesaro being noticed by Vince McMahon. Sure, Cesaro had an early run as United States Champion in 2012 shortly after being called up, but how much did McMahon (and others) really notice him?
In a sense, Cesaro has assumed the Daniel Bryan role these days. He’s nowhere near as over with crowds as Bryan was before the injuries, but every week on Raw, it appears that the “Cesaro Section” continues to grow.
This past Sunday at SummerSlam, Cesaro and newcomer Kevin Owens went on before the Lesnar-Undertaker rematch, and had a 14-minute thriller, won by Owens. Even in defeat, Cesaro looked strong (literally), and the higher-ups aren’t going to be able to ignore Cesaro for too much longer. With tag team partner Tyson Kidd on the shelf for quite a while longer, the opportunity for Cesaro to be pushed into the main event picture is coming rapidly.
Here’s where things get interesting: Sadly, we’re going to see a Sheamus title run as a heel, so the rumored Seth Rollins face turn could be approaching. Guys like Brock Lesnar (who is probably heading for another Undertaker showdown) and John Cena don’t need titles to authenticate themselves (although one can assume Cena’s 16th title reign is coming next year).
There are a ton of factors involved, and it appears that Cesaro continues to fly under the radar as one of the company’s top performers. But, just like with Daniel Bryan’s “Miracle on Bourbon Street“, there may not be a choice but to elevate Cesaro soon. A push for Cesaro into the title picture could really do wonders for him and for the “IWC“.
Earlier, I saw this tweet, and I thought to myself, “Seth Rollins has a case, but this doesn’t seem wrong.”
Rewatched Cesaro/Owens and I think that Cesaro is the best wrestler in the world right now.

Whether you like CM Punk or you don’t for his infamous departure from WWE last year, you at least have to admit that he’s not wrong here.
