  1. Steel Cage Match

The lite version of the number three match on our list, the Steel Cage match is an old classic match that feuds were settled in.

Four walls of steel with nowhere to run or hide. Heels that stepped foot into the cage seemingly were about to get the wrath of the face they have avoided and cheating for months. The only place to escape was up, as in scaling the cage in the hopes that the heights didn’t get to you.

Two men entered a cage, and most of the time one man left standing with the other man needing to be helped out. Recently, the cage match has lost it’s appeal as a special match because of the new PG era restrictions on what these wrestlers can do.

Back in the day, a steel cage match was a rarity. Then the attitude era came along and things became violent; the cage become another toy for Vince McMahon and his superstars to use for the ratings war. And it worked. While a classic match, the steel cage was still a sight to see and meant something when it was used.

Despite the current day restrictions the cage match has given us enough memories and played a huge role in WWE’s history. That’s good enough for 7th on our list.
