The main event of NXT TakeOver: London will be Finn Balor defending his NXT Championship against Samoa Joe. This match was made after the Samoan Submission Machine turned on his Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic partner. He attacked after Baron Corbin interrupted the NXT title match on an episode of WWE NXT between Balor and Apollo Crews. Can Joe secure his first title in WWE?
Speaking of Crews and Corbin, they will face off at NXT TakeOver: London as well. Corbin interrupted the NXT title match because the former EVOLVE star eliminated him in the No. 1 Contenders Battle Royal for the belt. Which one of these young stars will get the win?
The other match involving the men is for the NXT Tag Team Championship. Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder will defend against Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady. This was made after the latter pair returned to get revenge on the Southern duo, who took out Big Cass’ leg in Oct.
As for the women, Bayley will be defending the NXT Women’s Championship against Nia Jax. So far, the Huggable One has defeated Sasha Banks, Alexa Bliss and Eva Marie to retain her title. With the momentum The Rock’s cousin has, though, tonight may be the end of Bayley’s reign. Could she get screwed out of retaining her belt if Nia and Eva (if she accompanies her at ringside) get involved?
The last match on the card is Japanese upstart Asuka vs. Emma. Tensions have risen between these two since Asuka’s contract signing in Sept. when the Aussie and Dana Brooke interrupted it. The former Kana would defeat Dana at NXT TakeOver: Respect but get attacked by Emma on an episode of WWE NXT. What will happen when these two lock up?
Then there’s the impending return of Sami Zayn, who is advertised for NXT TakeOver: London. There’s no word yet if he’ll wrestle or just be making an appearance.
With this in mind, check out how the match card looks on paper below.
