WWE WrestleMania 32: Why Becky Lynch Should Win
By Jay Sichler
Entering her first WrestleMania, The Lass Kicker, Becky Lynch, needs to win the Divas Championship at the big event.
For the first time in years, the Women’s division finally has a match at WrestleMania worth watching. Since early last year WWE, (specifically NXT) has made it a major emphasis to rebuild the Women’s division. One of the Divas who can be thanked for this recent revolution in Women’s wrestling is Becky Lynch.
Starting out in Dublin, Ireland, Lynch started to train in her teenage years to become a wrestler. She was even trained during this time by current NXT Champion Finn Balor. After wrestling in various European promotions for a couple of years, Becky took time away from the ring in 2011, due to injuries.

However, she gained an urge and desire to return to the ring, eventually being scouted by WWE, and signed to NXT. After moving up on the NXT roster and becoming a popular competitor, Lynch, alongside Sasha Banks and Charlotte, were called up to the main roster in the summer of 2015. The Irish Lass Kicker soon began teaming with her best friend, Charlotte, forming a popular trio which also included NXT alumnus Paige.
After coming up to the main roster together, Lynch and Charlotte were thick as thieves. They did everything together and were the closest of friends. However, back in the late fall, after losing a non-title match to Lynch, Charlotte turned on her once best friend. The two engaged in a highly competitive match at the Royal Rumble, with Becky coming up just short.

Being that close seems to be the story of Becky’s career in WWE thus far. After becoming one of the faces of the women’s division down in NXT, Becky Lynch competed for the NXT Women’s Championship multiple times. However, as close as she got, Lynch came up short in all of her attempts, never winning the championship.
In fact, she is the only one of the Four Horsewomen to never win the NXT Women’s Championship. The Irishwoman has become the ultimate underdog in the Divas division. With Becky’s history of being the ultimate underdog, what better place for her to win the big one finally than at WrestleMania.
For the last month, people’s mentality has been that either Charlotte or Banks is going to win the match at WrestleMania. With the bout being so predictable to the fans, WWE should throw a curve and let Becky surprise the world and win the match. Some of the best stories are when the underdog wins the big match.

Daniel Bryan is a great example of this. After coming up short time after time, Bryan was finally able to win the big match, and thus became the most popular wrestler in the company. Lynch could do the same in the Divas Division.
Alongside, having the story of being the underdog in the match at WrestleMania, Becky has also earned winning at WrestleMania based on her body of work. She has continuously been putting on great matches down in NXT and on the main roster and improved tremendously on the microphone as well.
For awhile, Lynch was having major issues, developing charisma and personality through mic work. She was always able to hang in the ring, however Sasha Banks and Charlotte, seemed to be miles ahead with their personality on the microphone. However, she really developed her skills on the microphone during her feud with Charlotte. Lynch was even able to shut down the great Ric Flair on the microphone.

Every year it seems like we get one shocking upset at WrestleMania. I can’t think of a better superstar, to accomplish that than Becky . At WrestleMania, she should finally be able to finally break away from the shadows of success the other three Horsewomen have had. WrestleMania 32 might be the night Becky Lynch finally wins the big one.
