WWE WrestleMania 32: Why Charlotte Should Win

Entering her first WrestleMania, The Dirtiest Diva in the Game , Charlotte, needs to win the Divas Championship at the big event.

For the first time in years, the Women’s division finally has a match at WrestleMania worth watching. A major reason for the increase in the Women’s division, both in the ring and on the microphone has been because of the current Divas Champion, Charlotte. Coming from a family that has built around wrestling is a hard thing to do.

You are constantly compared to your families past accomplishments, and ridiculed if you can’t live up to the family name. While stars like The Rock, Eddie Guerrero, and Bret Hart, were able to keep their family name strong, others like Shawn Stasiak and David Sammartino were unable to break away into stardom.

The pressure gets heightened when you’re not only the daughter of a wrestler but the daughter of the greatest wrestler of all time. However, so far Charlotte has done a fantastic job on adding more linage to her family. Down in NXT, she became one of the most popular and charismatic Divas on the roster.

After numerous months of representing the NXT division as the female face of developmental, Charlotte was called up to the main roster, along with Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks last Summer. After teaming up with Becky and Paige for a couple of months, Charlotte began to put her sights on winning the Divas Championship.

After knocking off Nikki Bella, back in Sep., Charlotte has been on a complete tear in the Divas division. Being mentored by her father, the legendary Ric Flair, Charlotte has taken on a cheating-like mentality. She will do anything even if it’s breaking the rules to make sure she holds on to the championship. Sunday at WrestleMania should be no different.

Charlotte’s recent run as a heel has been very good. She has become the best heel the Women’s division has had in years. Along with having her Hall of Fame Father, Ric Flair in her corner, Charlotte has become the second coming of her father.

She cheats and bends every rule in the book to make sure that she holds on to her Divas Championship. Along with her heelish attitude, Charlotte has also been putting on solid matches on the main roster. She has had great battles with Nikki, Paige and her former best friend Becky.

With her recent string of matches, Charlotte has been able to do something that no Diva in a long time has been able to do, which is making the championship meaningful. For the last few years, the Divas Championship has been seen more as a wasted championship. The belt was held by females who did not have strong wrestling skills, such as Alicia Fox, Maryse and Jillian Hall.

Since Charlotte has had the belt, though, it finally seems like we have both a champion and a championship that means something. With Charlotte as champion, the playing field has gotten better with Divas like Sasha and Becky now going into WrestleMania to knock Charlotte off the top of the mountain.

Along with her bringing prestige back, to the belt Charlotte has also been able to create some great promos on the microphone. Down in NXT, Charlotte was solid on the microphone, but she wasn’t great. She let her in ring ability do most of her talking. However, since she has been a heel, she has been able to really develop some great skills on the microphone.

Taking some plays on what her father did on the microphone, but turning in to her own words and style has really helped her become a solid talker on the microphone. WWE also seems to be developing Charlotte into the Diva they want to have as the face of the Division for the next few years going forward.

The division has been missing a face in the division since Trish and Lita both retired in 2006. With her look, charisma and in ring ability it seems that WWE is content on having Charlotte become the new face of the division. With this in mind in makes logical sense that the WWE should keep the Divas Championship on Charlotte.

With the triple threat being considered the biggest match in the Divas division in 10 years, it makes that the future of the Divas Division Charlotte, leave Cowboys Stadium with the Divas Championship still in her possession.
