Baron Corbin is WWE’s Best Kept Secret

With WWE ushering in a New Era, Baron Corbin is showing that he is the best-kept secret on the main roster. 

For the last two months, WWE has started the new era in WWE. Since WrestleMania, they have been calling up stars from the NXT roster. One of these stars was Baron Corbin, who made a shocking debut when he won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania.

Corbin then entered a feud with Dolph Ziggler. The feud culminated at Extreme Rules when Corbin defeated Ziggler.  In a short period of time, Corbin has shown that he is by far the best heel in WWE.

In recent years, heels who seem to be cool have been cheered by the fans and have gained a bit of following. Bad guys such as Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens, despite being villains, have been mostly cheered by the fans.

This typically takes away from the character, as they are really supposed to be hated rather than admired. However, with Corbin, that is not the case. He legitimately gets heat and booed by the majority of the fans.

Corbin comes off as a guy who doesn’t care if you like him, or if you wear his t-shirt. He has a legit violent side and has very sharp strikes. The Lone Wolf acts like he would enjoy getting into a legit fight with a fan if allowed.

A heel like this is a rare sight these days. Superstars now are concerned about their social media following, rather than getting legit heat in the arena. Baron Corbin could care less, all he cares about is hurting people and winning.

The only thing still lacking with Corbin is his microphone skills. He didn’t get much talking time down in NXT, as he did his talking in the ring. This skill can come in time, though, when he receives more chances to talk.

With his feud with Dolph Ziggler seemingly over now, Corbin should set his sights on a new target. If WWE wanted to really push the former NXT star, a great next feud would be to have him feud with John Cena.

With Cena set to return to RAW next week, the two could enter a feud. John Cena could challenge Rusev to a United States Championship match. With Cena on the verge of winning, Corbin could come down to the ring and cost him the match.

Doing this would accomplish two things. First, it would help give Mr. HLR a meaningful feud to start his return to the roster. It would also give Corbin a chance to work with one of the top performers on the roster.

If used correctly Baron Corbin can have a really bright future. If used correctly, He can become the best overall heel the company has had in many years. Corbin has the tools that make him WWE’s best kept secret.
