WWE Money in the Bank 2016: Could Finn Balor Be the 7th Man in Ladder Match?
The Money in the Bank ladder match at Sunday’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view is missing a seventh participant. Could Finn Balor be that participant?
There is no doubt that the WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view this Sunday has the potential to be the best pay-per-view of the 2016 calendar year for WWE.
One of the reasons why Sunday’s pay-per-view has the potential to be memorable is because of the great matches that are on the card. One of the best matches on the card is the Money in the Bank ladder match that includes Chris Jericho, Sami Zayn, Cesaro, Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens, and Alberto Del Rio.

But, there is an interesting flaw in the booking of the Money in the Bank ladder match. When superstars had matches to earn a spot in the Money in the Bank ladder match, it was announced that there would be 7 participants. However, after the first six spots were filled, there was no mention of the seventh participant.
Even in the go-home edition of Monday Night Raw for the Money in the Bank pay-per view, there was no mention of a potential seventh participant.
Unless WWE thinks we are–in the words of Jericho–“stupid idiots” and will forget about the match originally including seven participants, chances are there will be a surprise entry in the match on Sunday night.
Speculation has been that the surprise entrant will be Bray Wyatt. Wyatt has been out since April with a calf injury but his return is imminent. In recent weeks, Wyatt has teased being involved in the Money in the Bank ladder match.

Wyatt did not return on this past week’s Raw, which emanated from New Orleans, but the picture included in his tweet has him holding the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. When Wyatt went down with an injury, he had just turned face and appeared to be in line for a big push considering the tease we got of a potential feud with Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight championship. That push could very well be ignited with Wyatt returning and winning the Money in the Bank ladder match on Sunday.
But, as much as Wyatt returning in the Money in the Bank ladder match makes sense, this is WWE we are talking about. Usually, in the WWE, what makes sense usually is not what happens.
That is why one scenario that should not be discounted is the one that has Finn Balor debuting on the main roster by participating in the Money in the Bank ladder match on Sunday. Balor has presumably ended his NXT run with the loss to Samoa Joe at NXT Takeover: The End. Balor’s main roster debut now has to be considered imminent.
Obviously, what makes sense for Balor’s return is for him to be involved in the John Cena versus AJ Styles feud. But again, in WWE, usually what makes sense does not happen.

Therefore, it is not crazy to think that Balor could debut in the Money in the Bank ladder match. Especially when there is no clear winner for the Money in the Bank ladder match. Balor’s debut is going to be electric but what an ovation it would be if he won the Money in the Bank briefcase on the same night.
Even in that scenario, Balor could be involved in the Styles and Cena feud. Say Balor wins the Money in the Bank ladder match, Styles defeats Cena, and The Club wins the tag team titles. The next night on Monday Night Raw, Balor could be talking about his victory when he is interrupted by The Club.
Just when it seems that The Club is ready to turn on Balor despite their history together in Japan, Balor–while wearing a suit–rips off his sport jacket and button down shirt to reveal a newly designed The Club t-shirt. Such a segment would have The Club looking incredibly strong, especially after their victories at the Money in the Bank pay-per view.
