1. Who Would Have Expected Orton with The Wyatt Family?

When this Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt feud started, it seemed like WWE’s latest attempt at a “dream match”, or pairing two people who hadn’t really interacted. While this may have been the case, sometimes these plans that seem great don’t resonate. This is evidenced by their lackluster No Mercy match and missing intrigue for most of the rivalry.

However, this potential end game of Orton joining The Wyatt Family may be a gold mine because who would have ever expected this? His gimmick has never been overly dark, except for when he punted wrestler’s heads off before it became illegal. Joining this cult-like group would be something difficult to believe that a 36-year-old Orton, who has been with mostly corporate stables, would do.

This is a great change of direction, though, for someone who needs to reinvent his career after 14 years. After keeping the same snake/viper gimmick for a handful of years, and bouncing back and forth from face to heel, he could do something that he’s never done before. While this wouldn’t last forever, it would inject life into Orton’s persona, which he should thrive off in the twilight years of his career. With more new stars being developed to take the reins from him and John Cena, this could come in handy for the day he’s putting over younger wrestlers more frequently.
