WWE WrestleMania 33: Hulk Hogan Should Enter Andre the Giant Battle Royal
By Peter Bahi
Approaching the 30 year anniversary of their classic bout at WrestleMania 3, what better way to pay tribute to his late friend than for Hulk Hogan to return to WrestleMania in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal?
Hulk Hogan is 63 years old. He has not been seen on WWE programming since being terminated in 2015 for being caught on tape after making racist remarks towards African-Americans. We do know that this country is the most forgiving country in the world, so through forgiveness, one must suggest that this year is the year to bring back the icon who instilled in us to always take our vitamins and say our prayers, brother!
The date was March 29, 1987, with a sold-out crowd of 93,173 packed in the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan. Hulk Hogan would go face to face with his arch-nemesis and former ally, the late, great Andre the Giant.
Build up to this storyline was that Hogan was given a trophy by President Jack Tunney on an episode of Piper’s Pit, and a week later Andre was presented with a smaller trophy of his own. Instead of Andre being able to talk about the trophy, which was given to him because he had remained undefeated for 15 years, the man in Red & Yellow took away the spotlight from Andre after spending most of the time talking during the interview that was intended for the Giant.
Andre later aligns himself with Bobby ‘The Brain’ Heenan and turns on Hogan setting up the biggest main event in Sports Entertainment history — Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant at WrestleMania 3.

Heart failure took the life of Andre the Giant on January 27, 1993, but no heart was bigger than his. Despite health issues, he still selflessly allowed the Hulkster to body slam him in front of the sold-out crowd witnessing history in that arena.

With an Andre the Giant documentary slated to come out later this year, it is the perfect opportunity to once again allow the fans to revisit the greatest main event in WrestleMania by bringing Hogan back in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, 30 years after defeating him at WrestleMania 3.
We all know that the 63-year-old Hogan cannot perform in a one on one match due to his health, but to be allowed to participate with 20 or 30 other men in a Battle Royal will allow Hulkster to be an attraction in the match without having to do much in the ring.

Big Show will not participate in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal because of his match-up against Shaquille O’Neal. Last year’s winner, Baron Corbin is scheduled to face Dean Ambrose for the Intercontinental Championship; so this leaves only one monster to win the Battle Royal and that is Braun Strowman.
Strowman can get ‘revenge’ for the Giant himself by having Hogan and the Monster Among Men be the last two left in the Battle Royal. In an attempt of Hogan lifting Strowman up for the body slam, the latter tosses out the Icon and causing an outcry from the fans who would have loved to see Hulk get that final WrestleMania moment in victory.
This would be a great way for Hogan, and in a way, Andre the Giant, to pass the torch to Braun Strowman as the next top-level talent within the WWE for years to come.
