2. A Great Chance to Prove Reigns’ Credibility

It goes without saying that the Undertaker is too banged up to carry the weight of a singles match anymore. Moreover, he would have to be protected from taking serious bumps in any match he is a part of. There is a possibility to Braun Strowman lurking in the background throughout this feud. For all we know, this match could even become a triple threat, should Strowman find his way into all this.

However, that would entirely depend on creative. What we can be certain about is that Reigns would have to carry a major portion of the match for this to work. In fact, one of the reasons for the Undertaker to be paired with a younger guy could be his health condition and inability to carry the match. This would put Reigns in a position where he would have to take charge of the entire match.

More from WrestleMania

Unlike his feuds with AJ Styles or Kevin Owens, both of whom were veterans of the in-ring game, Reigns would have to take up the mantle this time. However, that is definitely not suggesting that the Undertaker does not have the ring awareness to pull this off. He merely does not have the physical health to pull through.

Regardless of all the fan backlash and the constant boos against Reigns, he has improved by leaps and bounds. His mic skills are admittedly below par. However, throughout the years, Reigns has improved as a performer. He has never stopped learning and after each PPV he continues to improve.

This match would be his greatest test of skill to date. If he is able to carry the match and tell a story inside the ring, that would place him in an elite category. A good wrestler can work a good match. A great wrestler can do that and tell an emotional story between the ropes. Doing that and beating the Taker clean at WrestleMania 33 would cement Reigns’ legacy and add much to his credibility.
