Who will be this year’s winner of the 4th annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33?

Since WrestleMania 30, the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal has been a staple of the show.  From Cesaro to The Big Show to Baron Corbin, winning the battle royal only adds to their accomplishments.  The match is still in its infancy, however with how things have been for Corbin; the prestige of the match is looking to change heading into WrestleMania 33.

With this win, there is more focus on the Superstar as the year goes on.  Fans hope for much bigger things with Cesaro, but comparing 2014 to now, he has done quite well for himself in terms of building a loyal fan base and putting on consistent performances.  With The Big Show, his Battle Royal win was more of a heel tactic move as he robbed Damien Mizdow of the win two years ago.  Corbin’s win was almost obsolete until the fall, when things really started to pick up for him.  He is hot right now, and he is well on his way to his first singles Championship win in the WWE.

The announcement of the entries in the Battle Royal have been a little slow at best.  However as the days to WrestleMania grow closer, those announcements will speed up tremendously up until the day of the show.  Some of those entrants will be looked over but there will be some strong contenders in the match that is obviously going to be heavy favorites or make the most sense to win the trophy.

More from WrestleMania

Samoa Joe has yet to be announced in a match, and if he makes his first WrestleMania in the Battle Royal it could be more of a wasted opportunity considering his veteran status.  But right now, his role is that of Triple H’s right-hand man in addition to rumors of a stable forming post-Mania.  It is already established that Joe is a monster, so the possibility of adding him in could just reiterate the fact that he is unstoppable.

Fans certainly hope that Finn Balor will have a role in the Battle Royal and perhaps take it all.  Balor has recently returned to the company after his shoulder injury, working live events in the meantime.  Considering that this would be Balor’s first WrestleMania and he is returning from injury, it wouldn’t be a bad idea.  He would be a shoe-in to win, however having someone eliminate him could jumpstart his return feud.    There are some players that could face the Demon King.  Balor versus Joe in the future perhaps?

Rusev will miss WrestleMania due to a recent shoulder surgery that requires some time off.  Fans such as me have been rooting to see Rusev make his way to main event status so this news was disappointing, to say the least.  The Battle Royal would definitely help his case, but it just wasn’t meant to be this year for him.  After he recovers and returns to the ring, he will be refreshed and he can pick up where he left off from the fall.

If anything else, the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal serves as opportunity for some of the lower card guys to get a chance to prove themselves.  However, there are some that will only add to their rising star should they win.  Fans could see a surprise, or see something bigger unfold in front of them on April 2nd.  The element of surprise keeps hope alive for me, or the way the fallout is carried out from the Battle Royal will help build the prestige the company is trying to do.

Here are some choices that could make an impact or take it all in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
