WWE Royal Rumble 2018: The Undertaker Spotted In Philadelphia

According to a new report, The Undertaker has been spotted in Philadelphia ahead of WWE’s Royal Rumble event at the Wells Fargo Center in the City of Brotherly Love.

The report comes from Mike Johnson’s PWInsider, who writes that both The Undertaker and Michelle McCool, who were a part of WWE Raw 25, have been spotted in Philadelphia just in time for the WWE Royal Rumble 2018 event.

Johnson’s report also mentions that WWE reached out to McCool – a two-time Women’s Champion, two-time Diva’s Champion, and the Undertaker’s wife – to appear at the WWE event this Sunday, which makes sense following her arrival with the ‘Deadman’ at Philadelphia.

So, I guess it’s actually happening? Following The Undertaker’s strange and cryptic promo, that didn’t really explain a lot on Raw 25, it seems like ‘The Reaper’ will be at the Royal Rumble to set up the much anticipated match against John Cena.

I previously wrote about my distaste for the match, noting that his appearance at the Manhattan Centre should have marked the end of the ‘Deadman’, but I guess WWE felt otherwise and, as such, are sticking with guns of finally having this dream match.

The setting for the start of this mega match should feel like deja vu for The Undertaker, who just last year kicked off his feud with Roman Reigns in the Rumble match. Call it bad booking or just unoriginality, the match will mark as two part timers coming together for one last hurrah, and essentially, one final money grab by WWE.

As previously mentioned in my article outlining (what I thought) was the perfect end for The Undertaker’s retirement, the match pitching the two veterans is three years too late. And given that both Superstars have one foot out the door, I have absolutely zero interest in seeing the match.

With all that being said, I appreciate that WrestleMania can’t just sell itself, and being that the two men in question are serious draws, I can’t deny the marketably and, as such, I can’t blame WWE for wanting this match to take place. And if people want to pay for it, why not give it them?
