2. Will Samoe Joe’s Personal Mind Games Pay Off?
They were two of the greatest TNA superstars of all-time not long ago, but now they are two of the most important WWE superstars in 2018. AJ Styles and Samoa Joe have taken a similar career path in getting to the WWE and both men haven’t let the opportunity go to waste.
Styles has been WWE Champion since November of 2017 and has turned back every challenge thrown his way since then. But at SummerSlam, he will get the biggest challenge yet when Samoa Joe will be looking to take the title from The Phenomenal One. These two elite competitors have proven what they can do together in the past, but the storyline in play could be a huge factor.
Joe has taken a personal approach to get in the head of Styles over the past few weeks. He has focused on Styles’ family by saying Styles puts being WWE Champion above being a father or a husband. This has incensed The Phenomenal One, but could it end up being the ultimate detriment to the champion’s nine-plus month title reign?

Heels have a knack for getting under the skin of their babyface counterparts, and nobody has done that more recently than Joe. If Styles comes into this match a little too over-zealous, that could spell doom in his quest to retain his WWE Championship. And given how dangerous Joe can be in the ring with the risk of him choking someone out at any given time, Styles could be in trouble.
It will take supreme focus for The Phenomenal One to fend off The Samoan Submission Machine at WWE SummerSlam 2018.
