The Rock

Perhaps the biggest longshot of this list, but one that is far from impossible. It’s been almost three years since The Rock last competed inside a WWE ring, and his last match wasn’t exactly lengthy. At WrestleMania 32, The Rock appeared to announce that the all-time attendance record for WrestleMania had been broken that night in AT&T Stadium. The Rock was interrupted by The Wyatt Family, and all of this led to him defeating Erick Rowan in a six-second confrontation.

More from WrestleMania

That same night, Roman Reigns defeated Triple H in the main event of WrestleMania to become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. A lot has changed since that night. Despite a strong showing in the main event to defeat the literal corporate champion, Roman Reigns was heavily booed by the crowd in Dallas and was struggling to win the fans over. Today’s Roman Reigns has been to hell and back, and shown us all the depths of his battles.

Because of those revelations, the fans are now firmly in the corner of Roman Reigns. If he wanted to take on a truly monumental opponent at WrestleMania 35 to make his return even more impactful, there’s no bigger name than The Rock. An in-ring return for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson would be truly huge, and it’s not difficult to see The Rock answering the call if this was a match Roman Reigns wanted.

Aside from their in-ring history, we did see The Rock come to the aide of Roman Reigns years at during the Royal Rumble, there’s also a family history. The Rock and Roman Reigns are cousins, both belonging to the legendary Anoa’i Family which has produced countless wrestling legends. Roman Reigns could look to that history in a bid to create a true dream match at WrestleMania 35, one that becomes less and less likely to ever happen as the years tick by.
