Candice LeRae vs. Io Shirai

If you’ve been following NXT, you know that these two ladies have some bad blood going on. Shirai has snapped since mid-summer when she turned on LeRae and the match that resulted at NXT Takeover: Toronto was a banger with Shirai getting the upper hand via submission.

Since then, these two can’t stay out of each other’s way. LeRae used the feud to force her way into a #1 contender’s match for the NXT Women’s Championship and although she lost to Shayna Baszler, she looked extremely good in the process.

This whole progression took another step last week when Shirai looked to get some revenge on Rhea Ripley after a confrontation two weeks ago. After hitting a tiger feint kick on Ripley, LeRae came out to neutralize Shirai to help Ripley score a victory over Bianca Belair.

All four of these women have been intertwined throughout, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see Ripley or Belair get involved in some fashion as this thing goes down. Unlike its Wednesday night counterpart, referees usually see when others get involved, so there’s a chance that this could end in a no contest or winds up in the advantage of LeRae.

Prediction: Candice LeRae (via DQ)
