John Morrison vs. Big E

Morrison shoulder blocks and forearms Big E to start. Whip to the ropes, and E shoulder blocks JoMo himself. Morrison responds with two side kicks and mounted punches. He pulls E to the apron where he neckbreakers E to the ground. Already, we have a commercial break.

But after the break, JoMo has a sleeper variation on E, but E powers out, but gets sent right back down with a calf kick. He does a standing shooter star press pin, but E kicks out by lifting Morrison into his arms. JoMo wiggles out and kicks E from the apron.

E avoids a springboard and hits a series of belly to bellys. JoMo gets back in this with a poke to the eye, but not for long. E backdrops JoMo before hitting a big splash, which sets up The Big Ending. Before he can hit it, Morrison evades, hits a gut kick, then Moonlight Drive for a nearfall.

Miz tries to intervene on the apron, but Kofi shoves him into the steps. JoMo saves Miz by hitting a diving 450 kick to Kofi. JoMo gloats on the apron. Big E goes for an apron spear, but Miz pushes him out of the way. While staring down Miz, E gets kicked by Morrison.

Running knee in the ring by Morrison followed by Starship Pain for the win.

Winner: John Morrison

Grade: B

Great re-introduction to Morrison for fans, old and new. Hit all of his big moves while the speed vs. strength dynamic with E was entertaining.

Backstage, The Usos talks to Roman Reigns about the stipulation of his match with Robert Roode tonight: it’s a Tables Match and if Reigns wins, he gets to choose the stipulation to his Royal Rumble match vs. Baron Corbin.

They ask what his stip is going to be, but Reigns promises to keep it to himself until he beats Roode tonight. Usos leave to get ready for their own match tonight.
