WWE: 5 dream matches for WrestleMania 36
Rey Mysterio vs. Ricochet
It looks like 2020 is destined to be Rey Mysterio’s final year as a wrestler. He has been hinting at retirement all year round and his run from mid-2019 until now has felt like a farewell tour.
Between winning one last title, one last shot at the World Championship, and having dream matches with everyone ranging from Gran Metalik to Angel Garza, it looks like Rey is on his way to riding off into the sunset.
Assuming that he takes his final bow at WrestleMania this year, I cannot think of a better final match to have than one pitting him against Ricochet.
Mysterio already recently hailed Ricochet as “the next Rey Mysterio,” so it seems only appropriate for the Leader of the 619 to pass the torch to Mr. One and Only on his way out the door. Especially since they have yet to face off on WWE soil one-on-one.
They’ve faced off outside of WWE loads of time, but the closest to an encounter they ever had in WWE was a recent Fatal Four Way featuring Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre. Anyone who has seen the matches Ric and Rey have put on in the past know that it would be a shame if they never got to bring that magic to a WWE ring.
