Grudge Match: Goldberg vs. Matt Riddle

While some have insisted his antagonistic social media strategy would mean Matt Riddle’s hopes for a match against Goldberg would never come to fruition, Vince McMahon knows money when he sees it. Regardless of how bothered he or Goldberg may be about The Original Bro’s antics right now, they’ll come around and realize not having this match is just leaving money on the table.

While this has the potential to be a career-ending contest for Goldberg, and for Riddle to retire him in the way he’s threatened to retire “The Beast” Brock Lesnar. However, I don’t believe Goldberg will put an end to his Saudi Arabia paychecks any time soon. Career on the line or not, I fully expect Matt Riddle to destroy the legend at WrestleMania, maybe even in shockingly quick fashion.

Prediction: Matt Riddle embarrasses Goldberg

United States Championship Ladder Match: Braun Strowman (c) vs. Aleister Black vs. AJ Styles vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Samoa Joe

If the brand split does go away, it’ll leave a lot of huge singles competitors scratching a clawing for a spot on the card at WrestleMania 37. One thing we used to be able to count on was six or eight of them being in a chaotic championship ladder match, and WrestleMania 37 could see that trend restarted.

Braun Strowman only recently began his first singles championship reign in WWE by capturing the Intercontinental Championship, but this potential future sees him back on Raw and in possession of the United States Championship. He would go up against a truly star-studded lineup, bringing in the biggest stars from both brands as the roster becomes unified once again.

Aleister Black, AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Samoa Joe, and Braun Strowman in the same match is the kind of clusterf*ck that you can’t look away from, but it’s also so much talent that it’s guaranteed to be must-see. Cementing his place as the WWE’s workhorse once again, I’m predicting Daniel Bryan to become “The Planet’s” United States Champion.

Prediction: Daniel Bryan is the new United States Champion

Grudge Match: CM Punk vs. The Rock

The last of my predicted grudge matches, and honestly the most farfetched one. That said, as impossible as this match might seem, all the ingredients are there if WWE is willing to pull the trigger. CM Punk’s record-setting 434 day reign as WWE Champion came to a screeching halt when The Rock defeated him at Royal Rumble 2013.

One year later, CM Punk’s issues with WWE hit a boiling point and he legitimately left the company. Many believed, even in an industry of “never say never,” that CM Punk would indeed never be seen in a wrestling ring again. That could still ring true, but his new role on WWE Backstage, even as a Fox Sports employee and not a WWE talent, brings this impossibility back into the world of reality.

On top of that, we haven’t seen The Rock in a real match (as his six-second spontaneous squash of Erick Rowan at WrestleMania 32 absolutely doesn’t count) since he lost the WWE Championship to John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania 29. While The Rock has apparently “quietly retired” from wrestling, this would be a once-in-a-lifetime chance to return while in Hollywood, converging his past in present in a way we’ve never seen before. Of course, if this does happen, there’s no way CM Punk is losing.

Prediction: CM Punk
