Becoming General Manager

Granted, this may not sound as unlikely on the surface as, say, a return to in-ring competition – Paige herself said there’s always a possibility, but it is not likely to happen any time soon – but in a world where WWE has eradicated the very idea of an onscreen authority figure these days, it seems unlikely to see Paige return to a GM role.
But not impossible. Let us not forget that when The McMahon family first overtook a collective onscreen authority figure position some years back, this immediately took Paige out of her GM spot, which bummed out a lot of fans.
Mostly due to the fact that Paige was one of the few General Managers to burst out on to the scene in recent memory to be both tolerable and likable. Truth be told, William Regal right now as NXT’s current General Manager proves that the GM dynamic can still work as long as the GM does not overstay their welcome and fall into certain overused tropes.
If Paige does come back to SmackDown to confront Bayley, it may be to announce a return to the General Manager position and on the spot, she books a challenger (or challengers) for Bayley’s WrestleMania title defense.
