Jeff Hardy is back in WWE and as hyped as his comeback story has been, it just wouldn’t be complete without his first WWE World Championship win in 10 years.

It’s been quite an eventful week for Brothers Nero and Matthew of House Hardy. Matt hit a man with a golf cart (which is a crime in most states, last I heard) and Jeff made his long awaited return to a WWE ring for the first time in (checks notes) four weeks. Which, to be fair, has felt like four months in light of the world’s current events.

Don’t be remiss if you didn’t realize Jeff Hardy has been absent for only four weeks when WWE has made sure to make his inevitable return mean something with these weekly candid vignettes, chronicling his rise and fall up the proverbial ladder throughout his career whilst hyping up a comeback.

While this isn’t a case of Jeff being gone and returning to WWE or even wrestling after multiple months/years of an absence, this is instead Jeff’s first true return to singles competition since he came back to WWE in 2017, now that his brother has exited for AEW.

With Jeff Hardy truly on his own, WWE has decided it was truly time for a rebranding of sorts, or rather a return to form for the Charismatic Enigma. We’ve heard The Hardy Boyz theme tune blare through the speakers long enough that it was time to remind fans why they fell in love with Jeff Hardy: the singles star.

And so, week after week of nostalgia reels commenced and fans suddenly remembered why they first became so enamored with the risk taking, death defying daredevil all those years ago. Why many of us are still enamored with him today.

That love for Jeff Hardy has clearly become overbearing as his legion of followers have flooded social media absolutely gushing over the Rainbow Haired Warrior like it’s 2002 all over again. And it’s easy to see why. When we look back at Jeff Hardy’s life journey, for as much as tragedy as there is triumph, his story is both fascinating and, in many ways, inspiring.

Now that WWE has reminded us as to why we love Jeff Hardy so much, now what? The smart play would be to capitalize on that newfound, reawakened love by crowning him with a World Championship to call his own.

It obviously doesn’t have to be any time soon. Nor can it be, as he just entered a new feud with Sheamus, which is miles away from Braun Strowman’s Universal Championship. However, Hardy has not won a World Title in WWE since 2010, right before he exited the company for a seven year absence.

Nothing would make for a more of a feel good moment than for everyone’s favorite old school veteran to win the big one all over again. Something to bring his latest comeback story full circle.

Even if it doesn’t happen until all the way in December, Jeff Hardy must win the World Championship to fulfill the comeback that someone of his caliber has truly earned.
