WWE NXT/NXT UK: Top 5 Theme Songs for Men, Women, and Tag Teams
By Bassam Kaado
Number 5
Men’s Division
Pete Dunne – “Bruiserweight”
The song is straight forward, aggressive, and contagious, perfect for Pete Dunne.
An ominous opening roars in right before you launched into an in-your-face guitar riff. It sets the necessary tone of a measured intensity that few can match with dealing with Dunne, which is amplified with the guitar switch up. The back-and-forth structure can be a bit repetitive, but that’s common among WWE songs. In my eyes, it’s an adaptation of his previous song “Young and Bitter” (an arguably better one).
Joint Manipulation Rating? 10 out of 10 fingers.
Chances of you accidentally punching yourself in the chin doing the Pete Dunne taunt? Critically High.
Likelihood of listening to it outside of a wrestling show? Yes, on my workout playlist.
Women’s Division
Dakota Kai – “New Force”
With her heel turn, Dakota Kai needed a new look and feel, and this was achieved from the moment of her entrance. Long gone were the days of the pop feel of Team Kick.
The song relies heavily on a repetitive guitar riff accompanied by a scattering of drums. Its strength is not a unique assortment of instruments or creative composition but in its tonal shift. It gives Kai a new edge that elevates her whole character. A running kick to the face feels more effective coming from a crazed Kai on a rampage than ever before.
Does this make you want to rebel against your parents? Heck yes.
Chances you will kick someone in the face? Moderate.
Likelihood of listening to it outside of a wrestling show? I’m on the fence about it.
Tag Team Division
Moustache Mountain – “Moustache Mountain Theme Song”
Man, does this song bring the energy. From the first couple seconds, you are up on your feet. Where a lot of theme songs elect to pump you up and bring you to a certain level, this song races start to the peak of Moustache Mountain.
For the twirly-facial haired tandem, they bring a combined energy and excitement. The song captures that initial burst and keeps it at a high level while the two make their way to the ring. Though it is a great song, it can get repetitive quickly.
What are they saying factor? Yes.
Chances you will twirl your facial hair? Oh, most definitely.
Likelihood of listening to it outside of a wrestling show? Honestly, not really.
