Who does Bianca Belair challenge?

If you watched the rumble, you know that Bianca Belair won the women’s rumble and Edge won the men’s. Both of these prospects are very intriguing story-line wise.

For Belair, who is a Smackdown superstar, one would assume that she challenges current Women’s Champion, Sasha Banks. There is the possibility however that she goes after the current Raw Women’s Champion, Asuka.

My feelings are Banks vs Belair for the event. The groundwork has begun being laid already too.

Over the past few months, the two have been teamed together on TV. They are similar in so many ways too. The boss and the EST both project extreme confidence in their abilities, whether on the mic or in the ring. It would be fun to watch the promos and the build to what would no doubt be a fantastic match.

As of this writing, both are considered baby-faces respectively. It would make the most sense to see a Banks heel-turn, as she plays the evil villain very well. WWE could also choose to go the face-vs-face route, but as we all know Vince McMahon isn’t much for those types of storylines. I expect the two to continue to team together, portraying a mutual respect aspect prior to Banks backstabbing — in more ways than one.

What’s next for Edge?

Edge winning the Royal Rumble wasn’t talked about much in the weeks leading to the event. Until he cut a scathing promo on RAW’s go-home show.

More from WrestleMania

The Vegas odds before Edge declared he would be in the Rumble favored Big E, then moved over to Daniel Bryan. For many, the Bryan win made a ton of sense, as it’s rumored Bryan is once again nearing retirement from in-ring action. Without a rumble win on his resume, it would certainly be nice for him to add that to his long list of career accolades.

For myself, I felt Bryan winning was not the right move, going back to a lack of fans being in attendance. How could WWE decide to pull the trigger with their most popular superstar without the YES movement present?

I still think it makes sense for Bryan to Challenge Reigns for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 37, though. Roman has easily been doing the best work of his career since turning heel and aligning himself with long-time Brock Lesnar advocate, Paul Heyman. Some fans have been clamoring for a face Lesnar to return to challenge Reigns, and there were also rumors of The Rock returning to WWE to face his cousin. It’s a storyline that seemed to make perfect sense considering the “Head of the Table” and bloodline gimmick.

Both are looking unlikely, however. At least at this time.

If one of those two proposed matches does happen, or if Bryan does advance on Smackdown to take on the current Universal Champion, what does that leave for Drew MacIntyre?
