An "Impaulsive" Decision: Logan Paul Will be WWE Champion after WrestleMania 40

It is increasingly likely that Logan Paul will be WWE Champion sometime after WrestleMania 40. His social clout is more than enough to get him a title run, but is he ready for that sort of pressure? The evidence that he might be is compelling.

It is increasingly likely that Logan Paul will be WWE Champion sometime after WrestleMania 40. By this time next year, the superstar and influencer seems almost destined to hold or have recently lost the WWE or World Heavyweight title. This has been an excellent time for fans of celebrities getting into a wrestling ring. All of them, though, have yet to make the move as quickly and entirely as Logan Paul. More than just sporadic appearances, Paul has signed and resigned with WWE and has even suggested his in-ring career will slowly start ramping up.

Paul will almost certainly never join the WWE roster full-time on the road. He is an international brand with other business ventures, even as his boxing career is winding down. His part-time status, though, is part of his appeal. WWE has told some compelling stories with an absentee champion, and adding his celebrity to that will make a title feud hot. Honestly, his social clout is more than enough to get him a title run, but is he ready for that sort of pressure? The evidence that he might be is compelling.

Logan Paul is the man for marquee matches.

Hearing the claim that Logan Paul will be the WWE Champion post is immediately suspect for longtime wrestling fans. It can take years to develop into a main event star. It doesn't mean that it will, though. Another newer WWE superstar, LA Knight, is seen almost universally as a future world champion. What, though, would be Knight's most memorable matches? In truth, of course, he hasn't had that many. Knight has made his name on Smackdown with his promos and segments, often not getting included in significant premium live events. Logan Paul, by comparison, is almost always in a prominent match. What's more, he usually delivers when the bell rings.

Looking at Paul through the lens of an outside celebrity can obscure his body of work. All but two of those matches have been at a "Big Five" WWE event. Also, despite hovering around a fifty percent win rate, according to cagematch.net, he always feels like a bigger star after the event, and he gives his opponent many viral moments as the match goes on. Regardless of the opponent, be it Roman Reigns or Ricochet, Paul has a good match at a PLE, which is a vital role for any good world champion.

WWE can use a viral champion like Logan Paul

The Rock's return for WrestleMania 40 has launched WWE to new heights on social media. For better or worse, more fans are engaging in social discussions, and the product has gotten a ton of online attention. The Rock's celebrity is powering much of that engagement, but he is not an internet star. Younger superstars like Drew McIntyre or NXT's Dijak are far better versed in the content creation for social media timelines. They don't have the same reach to fans without Rock's presence. Logan Paul does.

As United States champion, Logan Paul has done a great job promoting the title. From courtside seats in arenas to more intimate settings like his shower, Paul has carried that title everywhere he could, and it's been seen by millions of people, fans and non-fans alike. His being a champion in WWE has already been a success. Still, his being the top champion will put it into overdrive. Beyond the viral posts, he will undoubtedly get attention from outside media. ESPN, Barstool Sports, Forbes, and TMZ have all covered Paul in and out of a ring. This fame doesn't even include his podcast, which is consistently one of the most popular podcasts in a given month or year. Media means Money, and Logan Paul can garner much media for himself and the WWE title.

Predicting when Logan Paul will be WWE Champion

It will almost certainly be at a major event when Logan Paul wins his world championship. That win will be one of WWE's more shocking moments, and a massive crowd reaction in any direction will result in better content. A WrestleMania match next year in Minneapolis would be a long time to wait, and some hardcore fans may react poorly to Paul at the top of a WrestleMania card. Luckily, WWE has a better option, which is much sooner than next year.

Not long ago, WWE announced that SummerSlam, the first PLE in the United States announced for post-WrestleMania 40, is in Clevland, Ohio. Logan Paul is famously also from Cleveland. He may get a massive win in front of his home crowd. It may be on a surprise cash-in of Money in the Bank. He has had many viral moments at that event in the past, which further adds to the intrigue of the Summers' biggest show being his crowning moment. Either way, finding a better venue than Summerslam for a Logan Paul victory would be hard.

Logan Paul will be WWE Champion, and he has earned it.

So, if Logan Paul will be WWE Champion sometime after WrestleMania 40, he will have most certainly earned it. The WWE is an increasingly social company, a setting in which Logan Paul thrives. His in-ring ability is all but confirmed at this point, and even the most hardened wrestling fans have been giving Logan his flowers as one of the best new performers in the promotion. The lineage of the WWE title is that of larger-than-life personalities, evil and good alike, who can make the fans react. Logan Paul does precisely that, and there isn't a p[personality like him in wrestling. Love him or not, Paul's unique skills make him an excellent addition to the pantheon of WWE champions. Sooner or later, he is bound to win the big one.
