Hideo Itami and Finn Balor vs. The Ascension

The battle of two quickly rising stars in Hideo Itami and Finn Balor against The Ascension, two stars that will be heading to the WWE main roster shortly after, should be an excellent match.

The tension has been boiling between these two sides since NXT TakeOver: Fatal 4-Way, when Konnor and Viktor interrupted Itami’s debut. For about six weeks after that, Itami had trouble fending off the dangerous duo, so he called a friend; fellow recent signing Finn Balor.

While Itami has been improving a lot since he debuted, Balor has looked awesome from the get-go. He’s over with the fans, he has a cool intro, and his style of wrestling has adapted greatly to the WWE style. The former Prince Devitt has really opened eyes and has a bright future ahead of him in the company.

As for this match, The Ascension will end up putting over Balor and Itami, giving the two new stars a win to carry over into whatever their next feud will be. More on that later.

I expect a very fun 10-15 minute contest with different styles clashing to result in a great match. It wouldn’t be a surprise if this opened the show either.
