Kalisto and Sin Cara vs. The Vaudevillains – NXT Tag Team Championship
Kalisto and Sin Cara have held the NXT Tag Team Championship since September 11 at NXT Takeover Fatal 4-Way. They had some momentum around them with the exciting matches they were putting on during the #1 Contender’s Tournament. However, that quickly evaporated once they won the gold whether it was the fault of the Creative team or the performers themselves, they just haven’t done much to get recognition.

There’s been times through these three months that you forget Kalisto and Sin Cara own gold. They’ve wrestled a small handful of matches and just haven’t looked anything special in the process. Plus they’ve only defended the belts once, which was when The Ascension got their mandatory rematch. If anything, their competition, The Vaudevillains, have outshone them tremendously since September.
Aiden English and Simon Gotch may not be the world’s greatest wrestlers, but they are still pretty solid in that regard and are highly entertaining, even as heels. With all of the attention they’ve received, it would be a shocker if they didn’t win the NXT Tag Team Championship.
I get the feeling this match is going to be the forgotten one on the card, unless these four Superstars pull some tricks from their sleeves. With three outstanding matches surrounding them and a marquee debut happening, they could easily get lost in the shuffle, which sounds a lot like Kalisto and Sin Cara’s title reign. It will come to an end on Thursday night with English and Gotch taking the gold.
Prediction #1
The Vaudevillains defeat Kalisto and Sin Cara for the NXT Tag Team Championship.
Prediction #2
Hideo Itami and Finn Balor eventually become the #1 contenders.
