By Jimmie Allen
Paul Heyman put out an impressive promo last night on Monday Night Raw.

Last night the advocate for the reigning, defending, undisputed, WWE Champion cut the most realistic promo since CM Punk sat cross-legged on that stage in Vegas, as John Cena lay in the ring as uncomfortable as he possibly could have. Was Heyman’s mic cutting out a work? Possibly…in all actuality, probably.
Was what Heyman was saying a work? Probably not.
Brock Lesnar is going to do whatever he wants. For the first time in a long time, maybe in history, WWE does not have any leverage over its champion at the end of a contract.
No Brock can’t go run to WCW and show up on TNT with the WWE World Title. However, if you think Vince McMahon didn’t cringe when Heyman said, “If Brock Lesnar wants to be the first guy to unify the WWE and UFC World Heavyweight Championship, he will be,” you are delusional.
If what CM Punk told Colt Cabana is true, and Vince really didn’t want CM Punk to walk Chale Sonnon to the Octogon because he thought “Someone will eventually die” at a UFC event, the last thing he wants is his champion being publicly associated with going back to the cage before his contract is up.
Brock Lesnar is all but done with WWE. He still has a one fight clause with the UFC on his earlier UFC contract. It does state that he can’t fight while under contract with another promotion, and Lesnar was at UFC 184 just a few weeks ago. So you can pretty much say bye to Brock.
But where does that leave Heyman?
If last nights promo said anything, it’s that Brock might be holding the door for Paul as they walk out together.
There is growing frustration with a lot of people on the roster, with the direction of the company and it is visible on T.V. It’s clear when you have main roster guys complaining about the success and direction of NXT.
When you are a guy like Paul Heyman, who is so creative, and has been such a success when it comes to T.V. production, it has to be frustrating watching a company continue to keep falling so far down the rabbit hole, and wonder when it’s going to hit bottom.
That’s not a dig at Roman Reigns, it’s a dig at the fact that WWE will give us creative idea’s like The Shield, and The Wyatt family. Which the crowd shows interest in, then two years later disband those groups (which would happen eventually) and give us groups like “The New Day.” The lack of reaction to a group they just gave a win over the tag team champions is laughable.
If there were ever going to be an uprising in talent, to show frustration in the direction of the company, it would start with a guy like Paul Heyman. It would start with a man who is widely respected by the majority of the locker room. It would start with guys like Randy Orton and John Cena using curse words before 9 AM. If the company was going to move back to a TV-14 rating, it would start with top guys.
Was Heyman’s “Pipe bomb” the beginning of movement from the roster to speak out against the direction of the company?
A lot of people hope so.
