How to Effectively Get Bayley Over On the WWE Main Roster

People are worried about how the character of Bayley will translate to the main roster, but it’s actually pretty simple to get her over

In just a little over 24 hours, we’ll presumably be getting a moment in the NXT Women’s Division that we’ve all been waiting a while for, that being Bayley finally getting what’s coming to her. After so many missed opportunities, with the way everything has been booked as of late it certainly seems like she’s defeating Sasha Banks and walking out of NXT Takeover: Brooklyn with that title in her hands.

While that will be an incredible moment –actually, it might be the best moment of the entire weekend, SummerSlam included– we also want to see something else: Bayley on the WWE main roster competing. Of course, this might be something we have already, but because of her hand injury, she was unable to be a part of the “Divas Revolution” along with Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch. Had she not been injured, she would have been thrown in there in some form or fashion and it would have been tremendous.

Still, for as much as we want to see Bayley with the rest of the women on the big stage, there are some concerns. The concerns with Bayley lay with the fact that WWE won’t know what to do with her character, thus making her a flop on the main roster. You know — remember Emma? Yeah, kinda like that. Her happy-go-lucky nature will confuse the holy hell out of the WWE creative team, and regardless of how she can perform in the ring with the best of them, she’ll be buried in comedy skits and back down to NXT trying to rehab her character before we can blink.

But, there’s a way to make sure this does NOT happen, and it involves…Stephanie McMahon. Yes, when the time comes and Bayley is ready to hit the roster, feed her directly into a program with Steph.

Bayley can still walk out of Brooklyn with the NXT Women’s title with a win over Sasha on Saturday night, and she can stay in NXT for a few months and defend said belt. But, right around Royal Rumble time, Bayley shows up during a backstage segment on RAW and she tells Stephanie that she wants to be a part of this Divas Revolution. She tells Stephanie this in her “sunshine and roses” type of way and the Boss’ daughter is not impressed. She looks her up and down and says, “No thanks” and walks away. Bayley gets all sad that she just got rejected for the big time — and from this moment right there, she has WWE fans emotionally invested in her quest to make it. They’re hooked.

For weeks, Stephanie does nothing but torture Bayley every time she asks for a shot, getting the fans more in her corner as time goes on.

Eventually, Stephanie gives in and tells Bayley that she can have a contract on the main roster, under one condition: She has to beat Stephanie and a partner of her choosing (If Sasha Banks isn’t in the Divas title picture by now, put her in this slot as the amazing heel that she is). Bayley can choose any partner she wants, but if her team doesn’t win the match, she will NEVER get a WWE main roster deal; she stays in NXT forever. Bayley, all innocent, looks at Stephanie and says, “I can choose anyone to be my partner?” Stephanie, with that cocky smirk says, “Anyone!” Because, especially if her partner is Sasha, there’s no way she’s losing.

With Fastlane here now before WrestleMania, they announce a segment where Bayley will introduce her partner for the WrestleMania match. Stephanie McMahon is out first with her partner, and she tells Bayley to come out and just get this over with; let Stephanie and her partner know whose ass they have to kick at WrestleMania to make sure that Bayley never becomes a member of the Divas Division. Bayley gets in the ring and eventually catches a beat down.

A minute into the beat down, we hear this…

OUT. COMES. RONDA. ROUSEY.

The look on Stephanie’s face is priceless and she hightails it out of that ring faster than she ever has before. At WrestleMania 32, we get Ronda Rousey and Bayley vs Stephanie McMahon and a heel partner that’s not in the title picture, with Bayley’s future on the line.

This match makes sure that Ronda doesn’t have to do much in a match except get her hands on Stephanie to make the crowd happy, while Bayley and the heel Diva she’s in the ring with can do most of the work and put on a show in front of 100,000 people in Dallas. Of course, Bayley and Ronda win, maybe when Bayley gives Stephanie a Bayley-to Belly Suplex and Ronda follows that up with making her tap to and arm bar. Bayley is now a full-fledged member of the WWE roster and massively over with the crowd.

And yes, you can still have The Rock and Triple H go one-on-one with one another on the card, which would still be just as awesome, if not more so, than that rumored mixed tag.

The concerns about Bayley getting over are very real, don’t get me wrong, but it can be done.
