WWE WrestleMania 33: Roman Reigns vs. The Undertaker Made Official
Roman Reigns and the Undertaker will collide at WWE WrestleMania 33.
The Road to WrestleMania 33 seemed like it had been known for the Undertaker and Roman Reigns since the 2017 Royal Rumble. Their encounter teased more to come between the two, including a staredown after Reigns eliminated the Dead Man.
Over one month later, the two would meet again on Raw. This saw the Big Dog confront Undertaker to close last Monday’s show, leading to a chokeslam to send fans wondering when this match would be confirmed for WWE’s Showcase of the Immortals.
Well, on Monday afternoon, WWE announced on Twitter that Reigns vs. Undertaker is set for WrestleMania 33. This is the first match being made official for the Show of Shows since Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live.
This match joins a field that’s steadily stacking up, especially from the Raw brand. Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar became the first one announced in February, only to have the WWE Universal Championship added to the equation after Fastlane. Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jericho and Bayley defending her Raw Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks would follow suit.

Reigns vs. Undertaker is potentially the top nontitle match of WrestleMania 33, as everyone other bout announced has been for a title. It won’t main event the show, but will provide a spectacle for the fans to soak in, in a match that had only been thought of on WWE 2K17. Given that this could be one of the Phenom’s final matches, as well, it may make for an even more interesting showcase.
Undertaker’s WrestleMania history is well documented, but Reigns’ resume is quickly piling up. He’s already faced Brock Lesnar and Triple H in the main events of the past two big shows. Adding one of WWE’s greatest Superstars of all time only adds to this.
