Finn Balor Should Win Andre the Giant Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33
By Evan Gomes
The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal can be epic again this year, if Finn Balor wins the battle royal.
Ever since going out with a nasty shoulder injury at SummerSlam, the WWE Universe has been eagerly awaiting Finn Balor return. He did return briefly at an NXT taping recently, spurring thoughts that he is medically cleared to return to action.
Well, Balor has returned, just not to our television sets. He competed in six-man tag action at live events last week, teaming with Sami Zayn & Chris Jericho to face the trio of Triple H, Samoa Joe, & Kevin Owens.
The question now is when Balor will make his way back to our tv screens. When he does make his triumphant return, it may be best to have him be a surprise entrant and win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
The reason Balor should win the Battle Royal is because he doesn’t really have a spot on the card otherwise. By this point, most of the major names have found dancing partners. The Undertaker is on a collision course with Roman Reigns. If Seth Rollins can return he will be facing Triple H. There aren’t a lot more superstars available for Balor to dance with. In the Battle Royal, he can face off with multiple stars at once. That would provide us with a taste of some future feuds that would carry Raw forward for the next year or so.
The current favorites for winning the ARMBAR include Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman. Both of those work perfectly with Finn Balor’s return.

Balor has a long and storied history already with Samoa Joe. Having the two men square off inside the Battle Royal as two dominant forces having a mini-match within the match would be a tremendous first WrestleMania moment for both men. Balor is a legitimate threat to Joe based on their previous encounters, and would work as someone to toss Samoa Joe out of the ring.
If Strowman is in the match, he would be a perfect final boss for Balor in the match. Have the Demon King emulate Cesaro from WrestleMania 30 and toss the giant out. It would give Balor a WrestleMania moment and begin his first program afterward. Balor versus Strowman for a series of matches gives each man an interesting feud and can elevate one of them to title contender after their series.
Balor clearly factors into the future of the Raw brand. He was presented as an absolute star post-draft, pinning Roman Reigns clean and winning the Universal Title at SummerSlam. Balor should be prominently featured coming back. He would give the ARMBAR one of it’s best winners to date, as the match has really yet to have a “marquee” winner. Cesaro had that chance, but didn’t actually take that win and run with it like many thought he could.
