WWE SummerSlam 2015 Predictions: Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev

Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev will be one of the top under-card matches of WWE SummerSlam. Who will win the match? Check out who the Daily DDT staff thinks comes out on top.

We will see Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev tonight at WWE SummerSlam with Lana and Summer Rae at ringside.

The build for this match began when Lana got tired of Rusev’s antics earlier this summer and broke up with him. She would side with Ziggler (for no reason) and become his boyfriend.

Rusev would then go down with an injury in a match on SmackDown, making this feud stall. Once he recovered, he put Ziggler out of action with a throat injury.

Ziggler would finally return to action on last week’s Raw by taking out Rusev and setting up this match at SummerSlam.

Brandon’s Prediction:

On the heels of his big comeback on Raw, Ziggler has all the momentum going into this match.

Prediction: Dolph Ziggler

Callum’s Prediction:

Originally, I thought this match would be a mixed tag team affair, with the combatants respective beaus Lana and Summer Rae directly involved. With those factors relegated to ringside, a straight fight between Dolph Ziggler and Rusev could be interesting. Now Rusev is no longer shielded by an undefeated streak, so a conquering that was once secure before the bell even rang isn’t the case anymore. He still needs some serious rehabilitation, but Ziggler’s recent return suggests he’ll gain the win.

Prediction: Dolph Ziggler

Evan G’s Prediction:

Rusev is no longer the protected Russian villain that he is. This feud has really not had as much steam behind it as it could have, but it is a decent addition to the card. Ziggler as the resilient babyface may be able to overcome, but I think Summer gets involved in this one somehow and leads her new beau to victory.

Prediction: Rusev

Rob’s Prediction:

This one was a tough call for me. It could really go in either direction since both men have had an equal amount of momentum in this feud. I see Ziggler coming out on top. However, in the case of “50/50 booking,” I have a feeling Rusev is standing tall to continue this feud.

Sherron’s Prediction:

Prediction: Dolph Ziggler

Teddy’s Prediction:

To put it simply, Dolph Ziggler should win this one with the way Rusev has been booked. I don’t see any reason why Ziggler loses here fresh off his return. Obviously expect Summer Rae and Lana to get involved.
