Final Thoughts
That title match had the chance to be one of the best matches on NXT television outside of the TakeOver specials. The DQ ending did take away from it, but a legitimate TakeOver match between Crews and Balor would steal the show. It was definitely the highlight of the show tonight.
The DQ finish does lead to two new feuds going into the TakeOver in the United Kingdom. Samoa Joe has freshly turned heel and will be going after Balor’s title. While Balor was the more tempting option to play the heel, Joe will be great at getting heat for his actions. He plays a good heel and can play up his desire for the NXT championship.

Baron Corbin will be going after Apollo Crews, and Crews should be able to give Corbin his best match yet. Crews is the best athlete that Corbin will be in the ring with, and if Corbin picked anything up from his feud and match with Samoa Joe, he should be able to translate it into a great match with Apollo.
The show tonight was bookended by two really good matches. Asuka continues to be impressive in each match, and will be a cornerstone of the Women’s division for the next five years. Eva Marie will be a cornerstone too.. even if we don’t like it.
