WWE WrestleMania 32: Who Should Chris Jericho Face?
By Jay Sichler
With his feud with AJ Styles seemingly over Chris Jericho’s opponent at WrestleMania should be...
Sunday night at Fastlane, Chris Jericho and AJ Styles competed in their rubber match to determine who was the absolute better of the two. In a highly competitive match, Styles was able to claim victory, virtually ending their month-long feud. The next night on Raw the two aligned together defeating the duo of Curtis Axel and Heath Slater.
Rumors going around is that both men might be slated to face Kevin Owens for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania in a triple threat match. However, I don’t think this should happen. With the way the Royal Rumble transpired with Owens eliminating Styles, they should have a one on one match.

Jericho and Owens have fought in the past. With Styles being viewed as a hot commodity, and Owens looking like a future star, these two should wrestle without the Ayatollah of Rock ‘n’ Rolla in the match. So with this is mind, where does this leave Jericho for WrestleMania? For the last couple years, Jericho has been used to help get young stars over. With the way things have been going lately, and with the injury-plagued roster there is one superstar Jericho should face at WrestleMania. That superstar is Kalisto.
For the past few months, Kalisto has been built as being the next Rey Mysterio. After going over in a feud with Alberto Del Rio, the Lucha Dragon should now face another top guy in Jericho. The match can be built around the former Undisputed WWE Champion having done everything in the company except winning the United States Championship.

To prove that he is the ‘best in the world at what he does today’, Jericho will feel that he needs to win every championship in WWE. Facing and defeating Kalisto at WrestleMania would solidify that point. With Kalisto having a very similar move repertoire as Rey Mysterio, Y2J could have a good match with the former.
Jericho and Mysterio had a bunch of fantastic matches for the Intercontinental Championship back in 2009. Being smaller guys they were able to really balance both speed and strength in their matches. With Kalisto being the same height and sharing the same speed as Mysterio the match Kalisto and Jericho have at WrestleMania could be just as good as the ones Jericho had with Mysterio.

If WWE wants to continue building Kalisto as a rising star in the company, putting him in a marquee match at WrestleMania with Jericho. This match could have the potential to be the best match at WrestleMania if its booked right.
If WWE wants fans to really buy into Kalisto as a legit star, then putting him over in a match with Jericho at WrestleMania would be a great place to start. Chris Jericho’s role in WWE is simple now, help create new stars for WWE’s future. The way things are right now I can’t see a better superstar for Chris Jericho to help mold, than Kalisto at WrestleMania.
